Hi, all.

Figured I’d share how to get a Ryzen GPU or APU working fully on Server 2022. I’ve always run Windows Server OS’s instead of the desktop consumer OS’s, simply because they have longer support, are cheap to buy in OEI format, and don’t have the extra bloat and garbaaaahje that’s found in 10/11. No Candy Crush in this Dojo.

I’m using Server 2022 on an M715Q, Gen 2. AMD decided it was a great idea to block installing drivers on server, so here’s the workaround.

(Note: Credit to all of the Redditors who found the workaround. The only point of this thread is to place all of the searching I did in one place.) 😉

I downloaded this one from Softpedia.

AMD Radeon Adrenalin Graphics Driver 22.2.2

Run the installer (in my example, I replaced the long *ss directory name with something easy C:\Ryzen), get the OOPS! error. Then exit the installer.

Open This PC—>Navigate to the folder below:

Right click the highlighted file, then click install. It’ll appear like nothing’s happening, but wait for it… wait for ittt….. 🙂

Once the screen flashes a few times, wait about a minute and reboot.

For audio, I right clicked the «high definition audio device» in device manager, and chose update driver—>browse. Copy and paste this C:\Ryzen\Packages\Drivers\Audio into the browse box, and it’ll search and install the driver.

Icing on the cake is the AMD Radeon Settings, which can be found here: C:\Ryzen\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF\B376581

Assuming all goes to plan, you’ll have your Ryzen working on Windows Server 2022. 🙂
